The festival celebrates the use of scarecrows or bambanti by the Isabelinos to protect their crops in the vast farmlands. The event features an agro-industrial trade fair that involves 34 towns and three cities of Isabela. A bambanti village is constructed to accommodate various activities such as agri-ecotourism exhibits, bambanti installations, Isabela Singing Idol and Glee, festival street dance competition with Festival King and Queen, and a grand fireworks display.
A. Getting to Isabela by air is possible through two airports, Cauayan City and Tuguegarao City, both served by Cebu Pacific flights from Manila. While Cauayan Airport has one daily flight, Tuguegarao Airport offers two flights per day. After arriving at Tuguegarao, a 1.5-hour land trip is required to reach Isabela.
B. Another option to travel to Isabela is by land using air-conditioned buses from Pasay, Cubao, or Sampaloc, such as Victory Liner, Florida, and 5 Star. These bus companies operate routes to various towns and cities in Isabela with a one-way fare of 500-600 pesos. The travel duration takes around 8-10 hours, depending on the stops. Daily trips are offered by Victory Liner and Florida, while the Maharlika Highway connecting Cagayan Province and Isabela province is served by air-conditioned buses on a daily basis.
