The Buyog (bees) dancers perform a choreographed dance during the festival, which depicts the origin of the town's name. The dance highlights the importance of bees in nature preservation and their contribution to human health. This performance carries an environmental preservation message as well.
Travel options to different destinations in the region are available by air, sea, and land transportation. Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Air Asia, and Air Juan offer flights from Cebu, Manila, Davao, and Clark to various cities such as Tacloban, Calbayog, Maasin, Naval, Ormoc, Catarman, and Catbalogan. Inter-island vessels also provide access to different locations from Luzon to San Isidro and Allen in Northern Samar, and from Cebu and Mindanao to Naval, Bato, Baybay City, Calbayog City, Catbalogan City, Maasin City, Hilongos, Ormoc City, Palompon, Liloan, and San Ricardo. Public and private land transportation is also available via the Maharlika Highway/Asian Highway using the RO-RO ports in Allen San Isidro and the Liloan & San Ricardo ports in Southern Leyte. Vans, buses, haba-habal, pedicab, traysikol, and boats are all available for travel to various destinations within the region.
