The city has a busy airport with over 1,000 domestic and 500 international flights every week, connecting to more than 30 local and 25 international destinations. Cebu is also home to 80% of the shipping companies in the Philippines, serving as a hub for ships sailing to Luzon and Mindanao, and connecting to several islands in the Visayas region. Buses, jeepneys, and horse-drawn carts called tartanillas are available for traveling within the city, while taxis are the most preferred mode of transportation due to their accessibility, affordability, and efficiency. However, tourists must be cautious of taxi drivers who refuse to use the meter or charge excessive fares, and should report any such instances to the Land Transport Office. Overall, regardless of the mode of transportation chosen, travelers can expect to reach their destination in Cebu.
