BEENGO FARM

TUNGA, LEYTE

Mantigue Island

Bees play a critical role in sustaining the world's food cycle by facilitating the essential process of pollination, which is crucial for plant production. In order to raise awareness about the significance of bees, the Beengo Farm (Bee and Mango Farm) was established in Tunga, Leyte. This farm serves as a bee sanctuary where visitors can explore and satisfy their curiosity about bees while immersing themselves in the urban farm environment. Not everyone is comfortable being near bees, but at Beengo Farm, there's nothing to fear because the bees here are stingless. Gary Avila Ayuste, the owner, explained that these bees do not possess stingers, providing even those with allergies the opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures in their natural surroundings. The primary focus of the farm is to cultivate bees for the production of pure honey, which is highly sought after by visitors.
