Secret Bay, also referred to as "Mainit Muck" due to its proximity to Mainit, is a highly popular diving location in Anilao, Philippines. This particular muck diving site is renowned among macro photographers worldwide for the abundance and quality of unique marine creatures that can be encountered, making it a must-visit destination for enthusiasts of underwater photography. In fact, this diving spot has the potential to overshadow the well-known Lembeh Strait. Diving at Secret Bay offers a straightforward experience, with a maximum depth of 21 meters and gentle currents. Even at a depth of 3 meters, divers can witness a remarkable array of biodiversity in the area. Ghost pipefish, scorpion fish, frogfish, wonderpus, coleman shrimp, and numerous vibrant nudibranchs with striking colors against the dark backdrop are just a few examples of the fascinating critters to be found. Additionally, encounters with bluering octopuses and Bobbit worms are not uncommon. Secret Bay faced a significant threat a couple of years ago when it was used as a dumping ground near nearby structures. However, it appears that these environmental violations have ceased, and life in the area is now thriving as abundantly as ever. Night dives are highly recommended at this exceptional location.
