The Tubbataha Reef Marine Park encompasses an area of 96,828 hectares, which includes the North and South Atolls as well as the Jessie Beazley Reef. It is an exceptional instance of an atoll reef characterized by a remarkably abundant variety of marine species. The North Islet functions as a nesting site for both birds and marine turtles. This location exemplifies an unspoiled coral reef featuring an impressive perpendicular wall stretching 100 meters, expansive lagoons, and two coral islands. Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park is situated in a distinctive position at the heart of the Sulu Sea and comprises the Tubbataha and Jessie Beazley Reefs. It safeguards an area of nearly 100,000 hectares consisting of exceptional marine habitats, including three atolls and a vast expanse of deep sea. The park boasts a rich diversity of marine life, including whales, dolphins, sharks, turtles, and Napoleon wrasse. The reef ecosystems sustain over 360 coral species and close to 700 fish species. Furthermore, the reserve safeguards one of the few remaining colonies of breeding seabirds in the region.
